Schedule | Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM / 40 hours a week

Summary/Objective
The Estimator position is responsible for developing a bill of material as a buying tool for our sales team. As well as, keeping up with the project schedule and material requirements.
Essential Functions
  • Reviews specification documents and understands the scope of supply.
  • Executes Material take-offs of construction documents.
  • Inputs take-offs into our computer database.
  • Inputs schedule and other data points into database
  • Communicates with client engineering and construction personnel.
  • Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
  • Attends departmental meetings as required.
  • Photocopies documents and plans.
  • Has an understanding of electrical material, their classifications and their intended use.

Supervisory Responsibility
The Estimating position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Working conditions
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm. The employee must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 year of related experience or training
  • 2 years minimum knowledge of Industrial Electrical Material required
  • 2 years minimum knowledge of Industrial Electrical background preferred
  • OR, equivalent combination or education and experience
